Inequalities are similar to equations, but instead of an equals sign (\(=\)) being used, the following are used instead:
- greater than (\(>\))
- greater than or equal to (\(≥\))
- less than (\(<\))
- less than or equal to (\(≤\))
Linear inequalities are solved like a normal equation, but you must remember to
flip the sign if you
multiply or divide by a negative number.
The solution of an inequality is the set of all real numbers \(x\) that make the inequality true.
When solving inequalities, don't forget to flip the sign if you multiply or divide by a negative number.
